The short chilly days of winter have taken us inside to plan the new year and reflect on the past. Since moving to Vashon Island from our small dusty farm in Topanga California, we have welcomed the change of seasons and the bounty that rain brings. Over the past year we have learned so much from our new surroundings. The free and plentiful grass made our animals happy, the abundance of wild edible foods and the unsurpassed beauty of the Puget Sound nourished our souls. We are stocked and ready for 2015 with pounds of rare seeds, a 1930's Ford tractor and a new found love of foraging, farming and finding joy in the simple things. For 2015 we will be opening our doors to offer opportunities and events surrounding organic farming, cooking, foraging and building more sustainable lifestyles. Cheers to 2015, may it be a year of growth...to be and do the best, for each other and the Earth.
